Plagiarism Policy

j-scientec.id – Journal of Science and Technology is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. The journal strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism and unethical publication practices.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Direct copying of text, ideas, data, or figures without proper citation

  • Paraphrasing substantial parts of another work without appropriate acknowledgment

  • Self-plagiarism, including redundant or duplicate publication without disclosure

  • Data fabrication, falsification, or manipulation

Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using reliable similarity detection software before entering the peer review process.

Similarity Threshold

  • The overall similarity index must not exceed 25%

  • Similarity from a single source must not exceed 5%

  • References, quotations, and commonly used phrases are excluded from similarity assessment

Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable similarity limits will be rejected or returned to authors for revision.

Consequences of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected at any stage of the publication process:

  • The manuscript will be rejected immediately

  • Published articles may be retracted

  • Authors may be prohibited from submitting manuscripts to the journal for a defined period

  • The author’s institution may be notified in serious cases
