Formulasi Shampoo dari Sari Buah Jeruk Nipis (Citrus aurantiifolia S.) dan Wortel (Daucus carota L.) untuk Rambut Rusak

Abstract

Shampoo is a product used to cleanse the hair and scalp of dirt, excess sebum, and hair care product residue. In addition to its cleansing function, shampoo is also formulated to provide additional benefits, such as maintaining moisture and nourishing damaged hair. Damaged hair is a common problem caused by exposure to environmental factors, the use of chemicals, and improper hair styling habits, such as using hair straighteners at excessively high temperatures. One way to care for damaged hair is to use natural shampoos that are safer and have fewer side effects. This study aims to formulate and evaluate the physical quality of natural shampoo preparations from lime (Citrus aurantiifolia S.) and carrot (Daucus carota L.) extracts, which have the potential to nourish and repair damaged hair. The research methods used in the preparation of the shampoo included the extraction of lime and carrot juice, the formulation of liquid shampoo, and the evaluation of the shampoo, which included organoleptic testing, pH testing, and foam height testing. The results showed that the shampoo formulation produced was liquid, clear orange in color, and odorless. The pH value of the formulation was 6, which is within the pH range of the scalp and meets the SNI requirements for shampoo formulations. The foam height test showed the formation of an initial foam height of 1.5 cm, which was still stable.
